Eating Oysters in North Myrtle Beach

North Myrtle Beach is on the coast. So of course seafood will play a large part in the cuisine and menus available here. There is a long list of seafood specialty restaurants and grills to choose from, so why not spoil yourself?

Oysters are one of the many dishes on offer in the area. Steamed or raw, platters, buckets or sandwiches; you can take your pick.

Tailgate Oyster Bar in Cherry Grove is only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5 to 8 – Its worth it! Plan to go to Tailgate when you are in NMB.

Flying Fish Public Market and Grill in Barefoot Landing received good reviews in 2013, and so may well be worth a visit if you’re in the area in 2014. The menu can be enjoyed in house or taken out to eat in your resort as you wish. What’s better than eating oysters in a restaurant? Eating oysters on your own balcony or al fresco on the beach, of course.

Rockefellers Raw Bar, meanwhile, offers a selection of oyster dishes. If you’re up for it, the Oyster Shooter is one to try – described on the restaurant website as: beer, cocktail sauce, horseradish, jalapeno, hot sauce and 1 raw oyster!

One of the other restaurants of note was voted into the top five in the Best Seafood Restaurant 2013 in the WMBF CityVoter.com awards. Goodfellas Seafood offers free hugs as well as great food, a mystery lunch deal (oysters are an option with this deal too) and fried cheesecake for dessert. The seafood platter comes in three sizes and six varieties – free hugs optional. That’s just one of the many choices available here. You can even have an oyster sandwich if you wish.

Oyster platter, raw oysters, steamed oysters, oyster sandwich, oysters eaten in house or takeout style on the beach. However you choose to enjoy them, oysters are a part of the North Myrtle Beach experience and your vacation will not be complete without at least one visit to a seafood shack or upscale restaurant. These are just a selection of the many eateries serving seafood here. Don’t forget to check out Restaurant Row for more options. You want oysters? We’ve got them.
